A: We are proudly based in Austin, Texas. While we operate globally with distribution partners and licensing agents in major markets, our creative heart and headquarters are right here in the "Live Music Capital of the World."
A: We are both. CMG operates as a hybrid music company. We handle Music Publishing (managing the copyrights and licensing of songs for film, TV, and ads) and serve as an Independent Record Label (producing, marketing, and distributing master recordings).
A: At this time, CMG is not accepting unsolicited demos. We are a boutique label with a "quality over quantity" philosophy, and we prefer to discover talent organically through the live music scene in Austin and beyond. Please do not send MP3s or physical media to our offices; they will be discarded unopened for legal reasons.
A: Canyon Johnson is CMG’s flagship country/Americana artist. Signed in 2020, he is known for his blend of traditional Texas country and modern storytelling. After a contractual delay with a previous distributor, his debut album, Vintage Vinyl Vibes, was released in 2024, followed by his breakout 2025 album, The Golden Standard.
A: Canyon’s debut was originally slated for 2022. However, due to a dispute with a former distribution partner regarding creative control, CMG made the difficult decision to pull the release. We believe in protecting our artists' vision at all costs. The wait was worth it—it allowed Canyon to refine his sound for his 2024 debut.
A: The Roughhouse Wranglers are CMG’s exclusive in-house studio band. Comprised of some of Austin’s finest session players, they provide the instrumentation for most of our country and Americana releases. If you hear a fiddle solo or a pedal steel lick on a CMG record, it’s likely a Wrangler.
A: Both! Gracie Mariani began her journey with CMG as a vocalist and musician in The Roughhouse Wranglers. Recognizing her undeniable solo potential, CMG signed her to a one-album deal in 2024. Her debut solo album, Young, Fierce, and Free (2025), is out now.
A: Good music is good music. In 2014, CMG acquired the assets of Trans-Pacific Records, a defunct New York label. This acquisition included the master tapes for Bridge The Gap, a pioneering R&B trio from the mid-90s. We are honored to serve as the custodians of their legacy.
A: The Bridge The Gap: 30th Anniversary Edition will be released on January 31, 2026.
A: The project was delayed to ensure that the estate of the late Marcus Vance (the group’s founder and producer, who passed away in 2024) was properly established to receive royalties. We also took extra time to retroactively clear original samples used in the 1994 production to ensure a lawsuit-free release for the future.
A: Currently, collinsmg.com does not host a direct e-commerce store.
Canyon Johnson: Digital albums and limited physical releases (when available) can be purchased directly from his Bandcamp Page.
A: Not at this time. Our website is currently undergoing a major revamp to better serve our fans. For now, all music consumption is digital-first. Please check your favorite streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal) to listen to our full catalog.
A: Yes. As part of our 2025/2026 site renovation, we have temporarily disabled direct-to-consumer sales on the main domain to focus on streamlining our distribution.
A: Bandcamp remains the best platform to support independent artists directly. You can also support them by streaming their music, adding their songs to your playlists, and following them on social media.
A: We plan to launch a new, dedicated merch store later in 2026 once the website revamp is complete.
